Holidays to Vancouver

The city of Vancouver is your starting point for many of the drives around the stunning province of British Columbia. The area is vast and if you have only 2 weeks choose carefully as there are many routes vying for your visit.

Holidays toBanff National Park & Lake Louise and Icefield Parkway

Bold and beautiful, this is one road trip you’ll never forget. The spectacular Icefields Parkway is located in southern British Columbia, Canada - the Okanagan Valley is one of the warmest regions in all of Canada.  The Okanagan is comprised of the major centres of Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Osoyoos.  During the summer months, visitors are offered countless sandy beaches, hot sun, and a variety of outdoor and water activities. Okanagan Lake provides the valley not only with excellent swimming but is also a spectacular backdrop to the golf courses and wineries and popular ski resorts located in the rolling hills of the valley. The Okanagan is considered a premiere wine valley and a tour of the local wineries is a must for anyone visiting the region.

holidays to Kootenays

The Kootenays region of British Columbia incorporates the Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3), Slocan Valley and Upper Arrow Lake (from Salmo to Galena Bay), and the North Kootenay Lake and Selkirk Valleys (from Kaslo on the west side of Kootenay Lake north to Galena Bay). Two geographical features dominate the Kootenays region of British Columbia: mountains and water.

The Crowsnest Highway east of Grand Forks provides a good introduction to the often steep terrain of the West Kootenays. Only intrepid travellers need apply to drive what is the highest-elevation paved highway in Canada, the Skyway.

Holidays to Victoria, Vancouver Island

Situated on the south of Vancouver island, Victoria has the mildest climate of the Pacific coast and the adventure of the great outdoors are within the city limits. There are so many attractions too choose from that planning ahead is advisable. North and South Travel recommend a visit to Butchart Gardens for beautiful flower displays, take a horse drawn carriage ride to take in the landmarks, pay a visit to the fabulous Empress Hotel where you can have afternoon tea, enjoy a stroll around the pretty harbour and take a trip on a zodiac boat to view the resident pod of Orcas up close.
