Usually a quiet little fishing village, Johnshaven becomes a hive of activity during the local ‘fish festival’ which is held early in August. During the whole summer season, however, visitors can still enjoy fresh lobster purchased on the harbour or ‘Arbroath Smokies’, only a short drive away.

For the enthusiasts, several bird sanctuaries and golf courses are to be found in the area which is also world famous for its delicious beef and soft fruits — but should you prefer to eat out there are local pubs and a hotel restaurant round the corner and more eating places within an easy drive.

Heating: Electric convector heaters and off-peak storage heaters. All electricity charged by meter reading. Starter pack provided for open period fire. Fully double glazed.

Linen: Duvets, duvet covers, bed linen towels and teatowels included in rental. Hot water bottles.
