Mountain View ref: AL58 cottage information
You are quite right — this is not a cottage, but it is a very appealing alternative! In a departure from our normal policy we have taken on this mobile holiday home because of its secluded location, fabulous view and the way it is set up with its own private garden area. Located on private land behind ‘Loch Etive View’ (AL57) this property has a lovely view of the loch as well as the stunning surrounding mountains.
Although compact, it has been carefully refurbished to provide everything for the comfort and well-being of holidaymakers. The garden area is very safe for children and for those who enjoy cooking there is a little herb garden on the doorstep. A well-equipped laundry room has been added at the rear, providing a covered drying area for wet wellies, boots and coats, etc.
This area is ideal for those visiting Scotland for the first time and is an excellent location for touring either by car, train or cycle. The islands are also accessible from Oban by ferry. Boats can be hired or bring your own and launch it nearby.
You can even use your host, who is a qualified summer mountain guide, to show you round the local mountains (booking essential). A perfect place to base yourself for a kayaking holiday due to the proximity of Loch Etive which is usually calm throughout the year. The river Awe (grade 3) is also close by for any river enthusiast.
