MacLeod Chalet ref: NW30 cottage information
This charming and well-equipped timber chalet is one of a little group of eight privately owned properties set on a secluded shoreline site of approximately 2 acres. Tastefully upgraded, we particularly liked it’s peaceful waterside position with the most wonderful, uninterrupted views across the sheltered bay.
This tranquil part of the west coast is ideal for those needing to get away from it all and for those wishing to pursue outdoor activities in remote and unspoilt countryside. Everyone – birdwatchers, canoeists, walkers, climbers, fishermen and those who enjoy the coastline and sandy beaches – should be able to find something to suit them here and to keep them occupied for a week or two. Just sitting at the window watching the seabirds and waders is fascinating in itself.
The nearby village of Lochinver is just over two miles up the road and very convenient for general shopping and eating out (we suggest you try the local ‘gourmet’ pies and the excellent restaurant!). As a special treat visit Albert Roux’s new restaurant or our favourite, the Albannach, which now has a well-deserved Michelin star.
Further afield, driving around the area is one of the most stunning experiences on the west coast, with fabulous mountain and hill scenery all around.
