Day 8
Final full day at leisure to explore Napa and its famous Wineries.

Day 9
Today head south and visit one of the Central Valley's premier wine destinations Lodi, stay two nights at the Hampton Inn and Suites with breakfast included. Located 100 miles east of San Francisco, Lodi is an easy place spend the day wine tasting, especially since many of the wineries are concentrated in an area 3 miles northwest of town near the Lodi Wine & Visitor Centre  . The centre is a great place to start your visit. Its tasting bar is stocked with an impressive array of local wines, and displays on winemaking unravel the mystery of local viticulture.

The Lodi region has been growing grapes since the 1850s, but hasn't always been viewed as a wine country destination, like Napa Valley. Now, with a big push to gain more attention, and good reviews for its robust Zinfandel, Lodi vineyards have gained increasing interest and respect, and several wineries welcome visitors. There are five major wineries in the area—Robert Mondavi Woodbridge, Sutter Home Winery, Bear Creek Winery, Oak Ridge Vineyards, and Turner Road Vintners—but there are also dozens of small boutique wineries like Michael–David Vineyards, Peirano Estate, and Century Oak Winery. These smaller wineries can offer an intimate and casual experience, where the winemaker might be the gentleman pouring your wine in the tasting room.

Day 10
At leisure

Day 11
On to the Madera Valley, here use the Valley Inn as your base for the next two nights to explore the area. The family-run wineries of the Madera Wine Trail  welcome guests to experience high-quality hand-crafted wines in intimate tasting rooms where the nice guy pouring your wine in is also the winemaker. In addition to wine-tasting throughout the year, a dozen wineries along the route hold special events that celebrate the harvest and the holidays. Most of the wineries are conveniently located along the State 99 corridor, and all are within a few minutes' drive from one another.

Day 12
Full day at leisure to enjoy and explore the Valley.

Day 13

The balance of the day is spent at leisure before you make your way to the airport, return the rental vehicle and then embark the return overnight flight which departs San Francisco
